Responsibilities:

Our client’s Edmonton office has an immediate opening for a Senior Geotechnical/ Materials Engineering Technologist who is seeking an organization with significant growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Working on and Managing a variety of small to large projects spanning from transportation, residential, commercial and industrial developments as well as linear corridors and Geohazard work.
Overseeing field construction support services from a senior technical standpoint which includes consstruction review and materials testing.
Performing construction review/QA/QC Client management.
Preparation and review of materials testing reports.
Mentoring, coaching and training of less experienced professionals as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a post secondary degree in civil engineering technology.
  • CET designation would certainly be an asset.
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in geotechnical consulting primarily in Alberta or Western Canada.
  • Strong client management experience.
  • A self starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Direct project experience on Alberta Transportation projects would be considered an asset.

The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to the plant in all areas of responsibility including administration, production, processing, packaging, quality, maintenance, warehousing, shipping, purchasing, safety, and environmental.

Directs the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customers’ requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standards.

Maintenance Supervisor

General:  Responsible for repair and maintenance of processing packaging equipment to ensure ongoing, cost effective operations, in a multi shift environment.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

§  Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.

§  Supervise mechanics and electricians including; assigning work, performance management, training, motivating, and continue to develop the relationship between the operators and Maintenance crew

§  Monitor and track department performance and take action when needed

§  Analyze inefficiencies, recommend, plan and implement equipment needs to achieve cost reduction, and improve product quality and processes.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Minimum grade 12, or equivalent, and previous manufacturing experience

·         Possess a Millwright and/or Electrician license

·         5 – 10 years experience in repair and overhaul, troubleshooting of processing , packaging and material handling equipment

·         Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment in a similar supervisory role

·         Strong knowledge and experience  in developing an EAM program

·         Experience with welding and machining.
