Responsibilities:

Our client’s Edmonton office has an immediate opening for a Sr. Geotechnical Engineering Techologist who is seeking an organization with significant growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Working on and Managing a variety of small to large projects spanning from transportation, residential, commercial and industrial developments as well as linear corridors and geohazard  work.
Overseeing field construction support services from a senior technical standpoint which includes consstruction review and materials testing.
Performing construction review/QA/QC Client management.
Preparation and review ofmaterials testing reports.
Mentoring, coaching and training of less experienced professionals as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a post secondary degree in civil engineering technology. 

CET designation would certainly be an asset.

Minimum of 12 years experience in geotechnical consulting primarily in Alberta or Western Canada.

Strong client management experience.

A self starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment. 

Direct project experience on Alberta Transportation projects would be considered an asset.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000

This position is responsible for system development and improvement along with managing projects with divisional impact. This position reports to a Manager in any of our Engineering areas. This position may supervise technician and other engineers.Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Ideal candidate must have 5 years of Polyurethane Extrusion experience.
Extensive project management experience 8 or more years experience in a mfg. ops environment Previous exp. with IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, tests & reports
Previous exp. with designing tools and fixtures Previous exp. writing M.O.P.’s and S.O.P.’s

 1. Initiates new or revised documentation and tracks through appropriate approval cycles and implementation 2. Maintains a professional working relationship with internal & external customer and support staff
3. Participates and leads cross-functional teams.
4. Provides technical support on components, material methods, systems and equipment.
5. Develops physical and functional test requirements to assure specifications & regulations are met.
6. Writes and approves protocols, reports and data.
7. Manages testing outlined in protocols and test methods
8. Manages/develops validation studies on equipment & processes
9. Conducts complaints investigations
10. Executes design controls
11. Participate in collecting/developing and analyzing design inputs
12. Understands and follows company procedures and regulatory requirements.
13. Participates in and provides input to training on department & division procedures, and policies.
14. Manages project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
15. Plans and coordinates engineering test builds.
16. Analyzes problems in design, process and test development. Recommend/implement solutions.
17. Prepares and presents oral and written project updates and technical discussions.
18. Develops and implements procedures/policy.

Basic Qualifications:

 

This position requires a Bachelor degree in science or engineering with 8 (eight) years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent industry OR a Masters degree with 6 (six)years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent industry.

 The above experience must include 3 (three) years’ effective project management skills and 5 (five) years Polyurethane extrusion planning, development and production experience.

Incumbent must possess:
1. Previous experience with initiating and conducting IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, tests and reports.
2. Previous experience with designing, tooling and fixtures.
3. Previous experinece with writing M.O.P.’s and S.O.P.’s
4. Ability to make and present engineering decisions
5. Strong interpersonal skills
6. Specific specialized engineering skills such as:
a)Create and critique engineering cost analysis
b)Basic tooling design and drafting knowledge
c)Analyze and optimize existing process and ability to create new processes
d)Create, analyze and optimize manufacturing and quality systems
e)Basic product, design and prototyping
f)Material Science
g)Bioengineering principles
7. Ability to train, create and critique training
8. Comparative statistics
9. Software application skills
10. Problem solving ability
11. Ability to create, review and coordinate test protocols and reports
12. Ability to generate engineering proposals

Material condition assessment and development of remedial work and/or rehabilitation work

Mentoring, coaching and training of less experienced professionals as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelors of Science Civil Engineering from a recognized university and a post graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering would be an asset.

Professional Engineer in good standing with APEGGA, or the ability to obtain the professional designation.

Minimum of 10 years experience managing a testing facility and knowledgable in ASTM, AASHTO, CCIL test methods on Alberta transportation products.

An individual with an good business acumen.

A self starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment. Direct project experience on Alberta Transportation project would be considered an asset.
